Jackson Kostiuk

Jackson is a Planner in Invistec’s Calgary office, where he leads a variety of Southern Alberta planning projects including the preparation and execution of statutory and non-statutory plans and policies, land development applications, and public engagement activities. With a combined Master of Planning (MPlan) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Calgary, he has a strong foundation in both business and planning, equipping him with a unique ability to balance economic insight with sustainable land use strategies. During his time in the program, he received an MBA specialization in Real Estate Studies and participated in the Zurich Studio Program, with The Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, both of which have broadened his understanding of economics, planning, and urban design. Before transitioning into land development, Jackson’s career began in engineering, helping to bring a strong technical foundation and problem-solving mindset to his current work.

In addition to his diverse educational background, Jackson brings land development experience from both the public and private sectors, having worked at a rural municipality, prior to joining Invistec in 2024. Here, he gained a detailed understanding of land development processes, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of building and maintaining stakeholder relationships. This breadth of experience allows him to navigate Invistec’s complex projects with confidence and deliver thoughtful solutions to land development and community building in the Calgary region.

Outside of the office, Jackson makes the most of the region’s geography by spending time outdoors and staying active through recreational sports. He enjoys golfing and hiking in the summer, playing hockey in the winter, and has recently taken up pickleball.
